Town Budget preparation for the upcoming year usually starts around in mid-summer. Our bookkeeper distributes a timeline to each department to follow while they work on their budgets. Once our Bookkeeper receives all information from each department regarding their ideal budget, she prepares a Tentative Budget.
Once the Tentative Budget is created, Town Board holds a Budget Workshop (special meeting) around late summer or early fall. The date of the Budget Workshop is always determined at one of the regular board meetings prior. The Budget Workshop is for the Town Supervisor to present and discuss the tentative budget, line by line. After the presentation and discussion, if there are no undecided matters, the budget becomes Preliminary and the date gets set for the Public Hearing where the board Approves the budget to make it the Adopted Budget. The Adoption usually happens in November each year.
Below is a list of the most recent 3 years of budgets. Please contact the Town Clerk's Office if you would like to see other years.
